SARASOTA (WSNN) – Even though the coronavirus is cancelling weddings, for one Sarasota couple, love prevails. They host their wedding ceremony online.

“We will actually be legally married today,” Bride, Hanna Brammer, said.

Hanna Brammer and Alex Boyd tied the knot virtually over Zoom and a Facebook Live on May 8.

Their love story began in the Fall of 2016 when they met at the Sarasota Opera.

Which is why Maestro Victor DeRenzi married them.

“I’m very happy and honored to officiate at Hanna and Alex’s wedding,” DeRenzi said.

Even through the trials of a pandemic, they’re happy to be together.

“We feel great, we wouldn’t want to be with anyone else,” Boyd said. “We’re happy to be stuck together.”

And of course, overcoming some technical difficulties.

“This is why we allotted a half hour for a 10-minute ceremony,” Boyd said.

Nonetheless, they were able to unite their love.

“I Victor DeRenzi pronounce you husband and wife,” DeRenzi said. “You may now kiss.”

What was supposed to be a small and intimate ceremony at a courthouse ended up being a large and public one with more than 1400 people in attendance.

“It was more meaningful than a courthouse,” Brammer said.

“It was really wonderful, it was really amazing to watch it grow like that and have it be this positive thing that people are happy about,” Boyd said.

Both say they feel blessed to still be able to bind their love in the midst of a pandemic.

“We feel really lucky that we’re here, that we’re able to do this, that we have people in our life like Maestro DeRenzi who could actually help us out and marry us, and make that happen,” Boyd said.

The decorations used in the ceremony were items from their own home, making it even more special.

“They had their own memories attached to them and it just added an extra special layer of meaning to it for us,” Brammer said.

They ended the ceremony with an emotional first dance, Alex surprised Hanna with.

Both say this is it, as far as the ceremony goes. But they still have one more thing on the list as newlyweds…

“What we’d really like to do is have a honeymoon,” Boyd said.

It’s a memory the Mr. and Mrs. say they will cherish forever. The newlyweds say they’re happy they get to spend this time together, as they cherish these small moments in quarantine.
