NEW YORK, NY (SNN-TV) – Tonight the Tampa Bay Lightning face the New York Rangers in a match-up between two of the league’s best teams.
The Lightning have a 45-26-6 record and with three wins in a row, they have the third-best record in the Atlantic Division. The Rangers sit at 45-21-11 on the season and have won seven of their last 10 games.
New York is three points behind the New Jersey Devils for home ice in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs. Tampa Bay has rebounded from a rough stretch in which it lost four straight by winning three in a row and outscoring those opponents 14-1, capped by a 5-0 triumph against the New York Islanders on Saturday.
Forwards Vladimir Tarasenko and Patrick Kane have made an impact since being acquired and face the Lightning for the first time tonight in Rangers jerseys. Puck drop from Madison Square Garden is set for 7:30pm on TNT.
