BRADENTON (SNN-TV) – After a long saga and coaching carousel, Bradenton Christian has named a new head football coach. The next head-man-in-charge of the Panthers program is former offensive coordinator Nate Strawderman.

“I am blessed to be able to coach such a great group of young men. We have something special at BCS and we are climbing our way to the top,” says Nate Strawderman.

An assistant coach and OC three of the past seasons, Strawderman accepted the position Wednesday. He was introduced to the team after yesterday’s spring jamboree with Out-of-Door Academy and Oasis High.

“It starts day 1 this summer and putting in the hard work so we can go be successful on the field this coming season. We have a lot of guys coming back and a lot of young guys who have really impressed me this spring. Looking forward to all that is coming for this program.” – Nate Strawderman
 

Strawderman’s hiring comes as BCS aimed to replace Scott Paravicini, who took the head coaching position at Lakewood Ranch High. The school appointed John Warren as head coach on April 11th, but Warren stepped down before ever coaching a spring practice.

 

Nate’s father Elton was Bradenton Christian’s offensive coordinator in 2020 when the Panthers went 6-1 and averaged more than 41 points per game. Elton Strawderman died at the age of 49 because of complications due to COVID-19, but he left a lasting impression on his son, who coached alongside him at Sarasota High in 2021.

The 25-year old Strawderman becomes the youngest head coach on the Suncoast.
