TAMPA (SNN-TV) – The buzz surrounding the opening of the Buccaneers training camp is gone without Tom Brady and lesser expectations for success. Nonetheless, the NFL season draws nigh.

Who will replace an all-time great Quarterback? There is a true competition in camp between Baker Mayfield and Kyle Trask. On Day one, the signal-callers split first-team reps.

The battle between Mayfield and Trask will be the first true quarterback competition for Tampa Bay since 2014 between Josh McCown and Mike Glennon.

There’s a lot of “new” with Tampa Bay this season – a new offensive coordinator and offense, new players vying for roster spots, and even a new top running back in Rachaad White.

A good sign from camp though was the sighting of disgruntled linebacker Devin White, who was present and practicing. Seemingly positive news for the Bucs, as White demanded a trade during the off-season.
