SARASOTA, Fla. (SNN TV) – USF Sarasota-Manatee is moving its annual 9/11 remembrance ceremony.

This September 11, USF Sarasota-Manatee will remember the victims of the terrorist attack and pay tributes to survivors at Patriot Plaza in Sarasota National Cemetery.

It’s usually hosted on campus. But it’s being moved to not interfere with ongoing construction of a new student center and residence hall, according to the Herald-Tribune.

The planting of flags for all the victims will still be held on campus September 9 at 9 a.m.

Speaking at the event is retired firefighter Matt Bruce who was injured during the World Trade Center attack. He’s a Vietnam veteran and recipient of two Purple Hearts and Bronze and Silver stars.

Parking will be on site at the ceremony.
