SARASOTA COUNTY- Art on the beach, Siesta Key is hosting the 9th annual Crystal Classic International Sand Sculpting Festival.
These aren’t regular sandcastles; professional sand sculptors from all over the world compete against other artists and showcase their work. Visitors can even take a lesson in sand sculpting and vote for their favorite sculptures.
“What’s great is when the people start piling up outside and they open those gates and they all start coming in,” said Crystal Classic creator, Brian Wigelsworth. “Just hearing the ‘oohs and aws’ is just wonderful, it just warms my heart.”
The crystal classic is open to the public until Monday.
