With today being Giving Tuesday, the local volunteer organization Mayors’ Feed the Hungry is in need of donations for it’s holiday activities. The program has serviced cities in Sarasota and Manatee counties for over thirty years. During the holidays, the organization distributes food gift cards to local pantries.
“This year, our donations are significantly down. We’re short about 60,000 dollars that we need to provide food gift cards for Christmas and Hanukkah during the holidays,” the programs’ Executive Director Scott Biehler said.
