SARASOTA, Fla. (SNN TV) – A Nicaraguan man died after flying off his motorcycle in Sarasota Sunday morning.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, at 5:50 a.m. the 26-year-old was driving a motorcycle east on 17th Street and approached the railroad tracks at the Sarasota city limit. 

The motorcyclist lost control and struck a curb. FHP said he flew off the motorcycle and hit a railroad crossing control sign. His motorcycle landed on the railroad tracks.

Sarasota County EMS pronounced the man dead on scene.
