SARASOTA – The Sarasota County Fire Department responded to a call of a car submerged in a pond.
It happened just after 10 p.m. Wednesday night near the northbound 213 exit of I-75. That’s University Parkway. Fire Department Spokeswoman Brianne Grant says a passerby noticed a person on top of their car requesting help.
The person with the mostly submerged vehicle has been rescued at this time and crews were working to remove the car from the pond. No word on what caused the driver to end up in the water.
