SARASOTA – ‘Meals on Wheels’ continues to roll on amid the coronavirus outbreak.

They’re an organization delivering nutritional meals to more than 800 people a month, to people who can’t provide a meal for themselves.

Executive Director, Margorie Broughton says the well-being of their clients and volunteers is tantamount to all of them.

They have taken extra precautions by adding even more ways to stay sanitary. That includes a water station with a knee pedal, more gloves, and placing food in sanitary containers.

When delivering the food, Broughton says:

“We are looking at the list, we’re seeing people who are at super high-risk and we’re trying to use common sense,” Executive Director, Margorie Broughton, said. “We don’t want to act prematurely, but I certainly want to air on the side of caution.”

Broughton says she encourages that her volunteers traveling out of the country should stay away from Meals on Wheels for about 14 days, which is the incubation period of the virus.
