MANATEE COUNTY – It’s one of the Suncoast’s top networking events of the year. The Bradenton Area Economic Development Corporation hosts their 32nd annual Hob Nob Bar-B-Que at Dolphin Aviation.

Thursday night, more than 800 people on the Suncoast mix business and pleasure.

Companies partner with restaurants and act as ‘grill teams’ to serve food to the guests.

And there’s more than just Bar-B-Que.

The Bradenton Area President and CEO, Sharon Hillstrom, says it’s a wonderful event because there’s no agenda and it allows people to mix and mingle.

“You come to an event like this, you’re going to see people from all over the region, maybe have an opportunity to connect and make some business connections, whatever it happens to be, or just say ‘hello’ to an old friend you haven’t seen for a while,” Sharon Hillstrom said.

The Bradenton Area drives its funding from the mostly from the private sector. So, Hillstrom says she hopes this event helps raise the funds to support the work they do. The EDC diversifies the local economy by bringing high-impact companies.
