SARASOTA – A World War Two Veteran celebrates a huge milestone but due to the coronavirus pandemic celebration plans had to be changed.

Meet Chief Bill Cheeseman the World War Two Veteran who is celebrating turning 100 years old. Due to the pandemic his family couldn’t celebrate like they normally would. So that’s when the community stepped in. Dozens of members of the Patriot Guard Riders and neighbors made sure his special day was one he’ll remember

“We don’t have many WWII veterans left and have one turn 100, and be as sharp and strong as he is and it’s amazing,” said Bob Morrison, Board Member Denis V. Cooper Foundation.

His family plans to throw a big celebration next year for his 101st Birthday as well.
