SARASOTA (WSNN) – A young child seriously injured in a boat accident, passed away after being transported to Sarasota Memorial Hospital as a trauma alert.
Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission (FWC) Officer Adam Brown says at around 11:30 Saturday morning two vessels taking part in a youth club sailing practice were involved in an accident on Sarasota Bay.
The 10-year-old boy was a student at Pine View School, and he was the only person hurt in the collision.
The accident forced closure in all directions on the bridge, causing major traffic delays.
