SARASOTA -8-year-old Priscilla Granados wish was to originally go to Hawaii, but a pandemic got in the way so Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southern Florida, brought Hawaii and a brand new swimming pool right to her backyard…

“This is the best we can get, and I’m very grateful for it,” said Priscilla’s Mom, Yirlien Granados.

Priscilla’s Mom says there is nothing she loves more than being in the water

“Every time she is at the hospital, she likes to be in the bathtub, or doing something like that, she loves water, so we came up with an above the ground pool but this is a lot more than expected, a lot more,” said Granados.

Priscilla has already undergone four surgeries and spent much of her eight years hospitalized with complications from a congenital heart disease. Priscilla’s mom says her daughter has already taught her many lessons about life

“You learn a lot from her every single day, even though she’s in pain, she will not complain to you, mom my chest hurts, you know she is in pain but she will not complain to you, she is always happy, and looking to move forward and see what the next adventure is,” said Granados.

Make- A –Wish added a pool and Tiki bar to the Granados back yard

“We don’t want to just do something that’s ordinary, we want to do something that’s extraordinary, and that is what we have done here today, and Priscilla and her family deserve it for what they’ve been through, what they’re going through on her medical journey and her personal life, they enjoy something like this and something they can enjoy forever,” said Chief Operating Officer of Make-A-Wish Southern Florida, Richard Kelly.

“Now I have to buy some products for my hair, because she is going to want to be in the pool every day, that’s for sure,” said Granados.

Priscilla also got a few gifts from Make-A-Wish along with a DJ and a food truck to enjoy her new pool with all her family and friends.
