SARASOTA (SNN-TV) – Over the weekend, the high school football playoff match-ups were announced, and 7 Suncoast teams have earned their spot in the postseason.

Perennial powerhouse, Venice, is the top seed in 8A Region 3 and will host Plant City, the winner of that contest, will play the winner of Lutz Steinbrenner and Riverview. The Rams are the 5th seed.

Taking a look at the 7A Region 3 bracket, Dave Marino’s Palmetto Tigers are the 4th seed and will host their quarterfinal match-up against Wiregrass Ranch.

Two local teams are represented in 6A as well, in Region 3, 5th seeded Braden River travels to Clearwater Countryside for their quarterfinal game, while the 7th seed Charlotte Tarpons are on the road as well and will face Naples High.

In 4A Region 3, the 2 seeded Lemon Bay Manta Rays get the first round bye and will play the winner of Clewiston and Tenoroc in the semi-final round.

And finally in 3A Quadrant 3, the 5th seed Cardinal Mooney Cougars will hit the road and face Fort Myers Bishop Verot in their first round contest.

Each of the quarterfinal games are set to kickoff this Friday at 7:30.
